Fatal Aircraft Accident

On July 4, 2023, at 1:58 PM, deputies were dispatched to an air emergency at the 37000 block of Industry Way in unincorporated Murrieta. When deputies arrived, they confirmed a small plane with four occupants had crashed. The adult male pilot was pronounced deceased at the scene and three juvenile occupants were transported to a local area hospital with different degrees of injuries. The deceased pilot has been identified as Jared Newman, a 39-year-old resident of Temecula. The investigation was assumed by the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration.
