HEMET — Ryon Dierck begins today as Hemet Fire Chief, the City of Hemet said in Press Release 2026-019 dated Sept. 8, 2026.
The city announced Dierck’s appointment and said he would officially begin Sept. 14, 2026. He most recently served as Fire Chief of the Montclair Fire Department after earlier roles there as Battalion Chief and Assistant Fire Chief, according to the release. His career began in 2008 with the Kern County Fire Department, where he advanced through Firefighter, Fire Engineer, and Fire Captain, the city wrote.
The release lists degrees including an associate degree in fire technology, a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from UC Santa Barbara, and an MBA focused on management, plus California State Fire Training Chief Fire Officer and Certified Executive Chief Fire Officer credentials.
Interim City Manager Noah Rau said in the release: “We are excited to welcome Chief Dierck to the City of Hemet. … His extensive operational experience, proven leadership, and commitment to developing strong fire service teams make him an excellent addition to our organization.”
Dierck said in the release: “I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as Fire Chief for the City of Hemet. … My commitment is to lead with integrity, support and develop our personnel, and ensure we continue to provide the highest level of fire, emergency medical, and public safety services to the residents of Hemet.”
The city said an official swearing-in ceremony will be held, with details to be shared on the city’s website and social channels.
