XO presents semi-autobiographical works that explore the boundaries of reality through layered depictions of escapism and romanticized self-perception. Lee juxtaposes the mundane and unsightly with captivating imagery, blending moments of intimacy and metaphorical experiences into his pieces. Through his use of paint, installation, and video, XO becomes a meditation on love, obsession, and infatuation, all interwoven with satirical undertones.

Paulson Lee, a Los Angeles-based artist, is known for delving into themes of identity, loss, and healing. His work seamlessly transitions between satire and sincerity, reflecting the tension between the performative self and the deeper, often hidden layers beneath the surface. Drawing inspiration from pop culture, mass media, and the aesthetics of Southern California, Lee’s art is a profound commentary on the dual nature of identity and the allure of beauty.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to explore Paulson Lee’s immersive world that questions and celebrates the boundaries of reality and fantasy. For more information, please visit www.msjc.edu/artgallery.
