The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office- Palm Desert was awarded a $102,341.00 grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS). The grant will support our ongoing enforcement and education programs to help reduce the number of serious injuries and deaths on our roads.

On Wednesday, October 18, 2023, about 12:55 a.m., deputies from the Cabazon Sheriff’s Station located a stolen truck driving in the 14800 block of Broadway Street in the unincorporated community of Cabazon and a traffic enforcement stop was conducted.

The effects of an enhanced Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) for single adults without dependent children might damage mental health for some recipients, according to a study at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health called the Paycheck Plus Experiment for Healthy Aging, a comprehensive study aimed at understanding the health ramifications of adjustments to the Earned Income Tax Credit, a tax credit available to low-income workers when they file taxes.

From 1993 to 2003, there was a 44% increase in emergency department visits nationally, according to a 2016 study. The COVID pandemic only intensified the problem. 

On Monday, October 16, 2023, about 3:53 a.m., deputies assigned to the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the area of Rubidoux Boulevard and Market Street, Jurupa Valley, regarding a report of a person lying in the roadway.
