A community liaison who works to combat chronic student absences, and an alternative school principal working with students on probation, were surprised with the news on Thursday, March 3, that they had been named the first 2022 Riverside County Educators of the Year by Riverside County Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Edwin Gomez.

At the Moreno Valley residence, approximately 1200 marijuana plants, in various stages of growth, and items consistent with illegal cultivation, were located. At the Diamond Bar residence, 5pounds of processed marijuana, one firearm, over $140,000 in cash, and items related to the Moreno Valley illegal marijuana grow, were located.

On Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at 11:52 PM, deputies from the Hemet Station responded to a call of an assault with a deadly weapon in the area of Thornton Ave and Hemet St in the unincorporated area of Hemet. Deputies learned a male adult had been transported to a local hospital and later died due to the injuries. Deputies secured the area and began an investigation.
