A Republican-led drive to recall California Governor Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, will go to a special vote on Sept. 14, the lieutenant governor declared on Thursday, shortly after the state's top election official certified the recall petition.
On Wednesday, July 14th, 2021, at 8:09 P.M., members of the Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force Region 6 Perris / Lake Elsinore conducted a vehicle check in the 300 block of F Street, in the city of Perris. Deputies contacted Christian Serrano, a 42-year-old resident of Perris. Serrano advised he was on probation for violating a restraining order. A subsequent search of Serrano’s vehicle revealed a firearm magazine containing (6) live 9mm cartridges, (10) live 16-gauge shotgun shells, numerous shaved keys, and (2) Balisong knives.
On Wednesday, July 7, 2021, about 11:50 a.m., deputies from the Perris Station responded to an armed robbery at the 260 Block of Spectacular Bid Street in the city of Perris. Deputies and Investigators assigned to the Perris Station Robbery / Burglary Suppression Team immediately assumed the investigation. During the investigation, it was learned two suspects used a social media website to make arrangements to purchase an item from the victim. The
On July 10, 2021, at 9:30 PM, Gang Task Force Officers from Region 2 conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of West Nicolet Street and 2nd Street on an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV). The driver, identified as Deshawn Smith, a thirty-four year old resident of the City of Banning, failed to stop. A short vehicle pursuit ensued and concluded in the 400 block of 3rd Street. Smith exited the ATV and ran into a residence and threw a backpack he had been wearing. Gang Task Force Officers pursued after Smith and he was placed under arrest.
On Saturday, July 10, 2021, at 11:09 PM, deputies responded to the 13000 block of Sylmar Drive in Moreno Valley for an assault with a deadly weapon investigation. Deputies arrived within minutes and located a male adult suffering from life-threatening injuries.
