Soboba Foundation Presents Scholarships

Because the Soboba Foundation fully supports education and the pursuit of higher education for all students within the San Jacinto Valley, it recently awarded 11 local students with scholarships. Each graduate received $2,500 in unrestricted funds to assist in the continuation of their academic goals.

To Vaccinate or Not to Vaccinate

I must have heard that stupid question about a million times. From my family, my friends, my customers, even from my employees for God’s sake! I almost fired a couple of them for making it sound like I was doing something wrong by not getting my vaccine shots. My favorite part of the ritual was when a hand that was being extended towards me for a handshake, was then abruptly pulled back when I said, “No, I have not been vaccinated and I don’t intend to get any vaccination, come hell or high water.” As if I had suddenly contracted leprosy.

Sex Trafficking Arrests

On Tuesday, June 22, 2021, members of the La Quinta Special Enforcement Team (SET) with the assistance of the Riverside County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force (RCAHT), and the Southern Coachella Valley Community Services District (SCVCSD) conducted a sex trafficking operation in the city of La Quinta.

Possession of Narcotics

On June 23, 2021, at 7:00 AM, Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force Officers from Region 2 and Region 6, along with the Riverside County Emergency Service Team served a search warrant in the 1300 block of East Lincoln Street in the City of Banning. The search warrant was the result of an ongoing gang investigation into Southside Beaumont Gang members involved in the sales of illegal narcotics and guns. Gang Task Force Officers located a shotgun, a stolen handgun and over four-hundred ammunition rounds at the location. Additionally, Gang Task Force Officers located one pound of honey oil wax, four ounces of Psilocybin mushrooms, over one hundred vape pens containing THC, one pound of marijuana and fifty fraudulent CDC COVID-19 vaccination cards. Gang Task Force Officers also seized $7,500.00 in U.S. Currency.

On Tuesday, June 22, 2021, Lake Elsinore Sheriff Station Investigators concluded an ongoing investigation regarding a past sexual assault, that occurred at a residence in the 100 block of Prospect Street, Lake Elsinore.
