Mt. San Jacinto College and community leaders on March 23 ceremoniously broke ground on the $41 million MSJC Athletics & Kinesiology Complex at the Menifee Valley Campus. The project will feature a 5,000-seat stadium and field house, softball field, and sand volleyball courts. The site is scheduled to host games and other events as soon as Fall 2022.
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) this week expanded drop offs of immigrants seeking asylum to southwest Riverside County. Since March 3, CBP has been regularly dropping off families in the Blythe area of Riverside County. Between the southwest and east county drop-offs, the county team has picked up 257 immigrants seeking asylum from CBP this month.

The 9th annual Soboba Foundation Charity Golf Tournament is being planned for May, but the first step has already taken place as 10 nonprofits have been chosen to benefit from the event. After an extensive selection process by Soboba Foundation board members, the following organizations were selected: Care-A-Van Transit System, Friends of Valley-Wide Foundation, Hemet Hospice Volunteers, LIFEWORKS Adult Life Skills ATP, My City Youth Center, Ramona Humane Society, Semper Fi Sports, T.H.E. Center, Valley Community Pantry and Veterans Paying It Forward.
The Valley-Wide Recreation and Park District Easter Run, known as "The Bunny Hop," went the "social distance" this year by going virtual. Valley-Wide, which operates more than 40 facilities, has been holding this popular family race for over 30 years as part of its mission: "to responsibly provide exceptional programs and quality park facilities that promote community involvement and healthy lifestyles."
