For many years, the Soboba Tribal TANF Prevention Resource Center has overseen the Work Experience through Leadership, Education, Acquirement and Desire (WE LEAD) summer youth internship program.
The Soboba Sports Complex gymnasium was filled with excitement as anxious family members waited for kindergarten students from the Soboba Tribal Preschool to enter the room on June 5. Before that moment arrived, a slideshow featuring all 21 youngsters in their caps and gowns followed by group photos of them in classroom activities was punctuated by cheers and applause.
Noli Indian School on the Soboba Indian Reservation held its Class of 2023 commencement ceremony at the Soboba Casino Resort Event Center on May 30. The room was filled with family, friends, teachers, staff and other well-wishers who enthusiastically showed their support of the 14 graduates with applause, cheers, confetti, flowers and oversized balloons.
The Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration announced it has awarded grants totaling nearly $5 million to 10 Tribes as part of the Tribal Broadband Connectivity Program. The Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians is one of three California Tribes that will benefit from this current grant.
