SOBOBA HIRES EMERGENCY SERVICES COORDINATOR

Soboba’s Department of Public Safety recently welcomed Mikayla Mendoza to its newly created position of Emergency Services Coordinator. Under the supervision of DPS Director Brian Herritt and Soboba Fire Chief Glenn Patterson, she will plan, develop and coordinate multi-hazard emergency response and recovery activities in support of the Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians.

With an open invitation to anyone that wanted to attend, Soboba’s Youth Council, in collaboration with its Parks and Recreation Department, organized a gathering in support of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women’s Day on May 5.

SOBOBA SPRINGS GOLF COURSE WELCOMES YOUTH

Young athletes who are members of the Inter Tribal Sports golf program arrived at the Soboba Springs Golf Course on Saturday for a round of fun. More than 100 players from 7-18 were divided into foursomes to enjoy an afternoon of golf under sunny skies.

SOBOBA CELEBRATES EASTER AND SPRING BREAK

The Easter Bunny greeted Soboba Tribal Preschool students as they took a socially distanced walk outside the building on April 2. With an enrollment of 76 students from ages two through six, the staff prepared treats for all the students and siblings who attended between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

SOBOBA NAMES ITS FIRST FIREFIGHTER OF THE YEAR

Xzavier Avalos has the distinction of being the first recipient of the Soboba Fire Department Chief Howard Maxcy Sr. Firefighter of the Year award.
