Coroner IDs Lake Perris Jet Ski Crash Victim

Date:

LAKE PERRIS, CA — Two Jet Ski personal watercraft riders collided in a deadly incident at a Riverside County lake Wednesday.

The Riverside County Coroner’s Bureau identified Paulina Guerrero, 34, of Highland, as the victim of the crash following notification of next of kin.

Shortly before 2:15 p.m., 911 callers relayed that two watercraft struck one another while motoring across Lake Perris. Two victims, one from each craft, were pulled from the water into a nearby boat by a good Samaritan, according to Lake Perris State Recreation Officer John Rowe.

Lake Perris State Recreation Area officers first scanned the crash scene, then went to assist the good Samaritan. They took over with CPR on the boat, but Guerrero did not survive.

After 10 minutes, she was taken to shore and pronounced dead by Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department medics, he said. The second victim declined medical treatment.
