File # JV220670139

Details:

On Tuesday, March 8, 2022, about 9:19 p.m., deputies assigned to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Jurupa Valley Station, were dispatched to a major injury traffic collision on Limonite Avenue and Avenue Juan Bautista, in Jurupa Valley. Deputies and Cal Fire arrived within minutes and located a single vehicle that had collided with a tree in the westbound lane of Limonite Ave. Two occupants were in the vehicle and had to be extricated by Cal Fire. Both occupants were transported to a local hospital by AMR. The passenger had major head trauma but expected to survive. The driver was pronounced deceased at the hospital by medical personnel.

The Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team responded to the location and assumed the investigation. Preliminary investigation indicates the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed westbound on Limonite Ave., lost control of the vehicle and collided with a tree. It is unknown if alcohol and drugs were a factor in the collision. Westbound Limonite Ave. at Pacific Ave. was closed for the duration of the investigation.

Anyone who may have witnessed this collision is encouraged to contact Deputy Linfoot at 951-955-2600, or the Riverside County Sheriff’s Dispatch at 951-776-1099.
