On September 24, 2023, around 1:53 A.M., deputies assigned to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, Lake Elsinore Station, responded to a major injury traffic collision on Canyon Lake Dr. S and Continental Dr, in the city of Canyon Lake. Deputies and Canyon Lake Fire personnel arrived within minutes, located the single vehicle involved in the collision and found the driver trapped. The driver was extricated by Canyon Lake Fire personnel and was provided medical aid. Canyon Lake Fire personnel pronounced the driver deceased at the scene. The Lake Elsinore Station’s Traffic unit assumed the investigation. The driver’s name is being withheld pending Coroner notification.
