File #  I232920085

Details:

On October 19, 2023, at 10:33 p.m., Riverside County Sheriff deputies responded to Ramona Expressway, west of Warren Road, in the city of San Jacinto, regarding a major-injury traffic collision. Deputies arrived and located two vehicles off the roadway, one overturned. The driver of the overturned vehicle had been ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other driver was uninjured.

The San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. Preliminary investigation revealed the dark-colored SUV was traveling eastbound on Ramona Expressway at a high rate of speed when it rear-ended a light-colored minivan. Both vehicles lost control and went off the roadway, where the SUV overturned and its driver was ejected. The identity of the deceased subject will not be released at this time, pending notification to the next of kin. This is an ongoing investigation no further details are available at this time.

The collision investigation required the temporary closure of Ramona Expressway, between Bridge Street and Warren Road, to process the scene and collect evidence. Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact Deputy Postle at the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station at 951-654-2702 or Riverside County Sheriff’s Dispatch at 951-776-1099.
