On Thursday, November 2, 2023, about 5:47 p.m., deputies assigned to the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the area of Philadelphia Avenue, west of Etiwanda Avenue, Jurupa Valley, regarding a single-vehicle, major-injury traffic collision. When deputies arrived, they discovered the driver of the vehicle had been transported to the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton. The driver ultimately succumbed to the injuries sustained during the traffic collision.

The Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The cause of the collision is still under investigation and it is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the collision. The identity of the driver will not be released at this time, pending notification to the next of kin.

The collision investigation required the temporary closure of Philadelphia Avenue, between Venture Drive and Etiwanda Avenue in order to process the scene and collect evidence.
