Reporting Deputy: Sergeant Jeremy Bracey

File# PE233220005

Details:

On November 18, 2023, about 12:54 a.m., deputies from the Perris Sheriff’s Station responded to the intersection of Indian Avenue and Placentia Avenue reference a single-vehicle, rollover collision. Deputies arrived on scene and located a 2023 Jeep Rubicon on its roof. Deputies began performing life-saving measures to the driver; however, the driver succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by Cal-Fire personnel.

Preliminary findings reflect the vehicle was performing donuts in the intersection of Indian Avenue and Placentia Avenue, when it lost control and rolled over onto the rooftop.

The driver of the Jeep was identified as Angel Zamora, a 20 year old resident of Perris. A temporary road closure of Placentia Avenue between Indian Avenue and Frontage Road was required in order to process the scene and collect evidence. It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in this incident. This investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to call Deputy Jess Kiebach of the Perris Sheriff’s Station at 951–210–1000 or the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department at 951–776–1099.
