Details:

On December 7, 2023, at 11:10 p.m., deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s, Perris Station, responded to the 2200 block of North Perris Boulevard, Perris, regarding the report of a major injury traffic collision. Deputies arrived on the scene and located the driver of a 2002 Honda Accord unresponsive with major injuries inside the vehicle. The driver was transported to a local hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries. A second vehicle involved in the collision, a 2014 Nissan Quest, was located on the opposite side of the road and had significant rear-end damage. The driver of the Nissan was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The Perris Station Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. Preliminary findings revealed the Nissan was exiting a parking lot into the northbound lanes of Perris Boulevard. As the Nissan entered the roadway, the Honda traveling northbound on Perris Boulevard collided with the rear end of the Nissan, sending the Nissan across the roadway to the opposite side of the street. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in this collision. This investigation is ongoing.

The identity of the deceased will not be released pending notification to the next of kin. A temporary road closure of North Perris Boulevard between Orange Avenue and Avocado Avenue was required to process the scene and collect evidence.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to call Deputy Joseph Puente of the Perris Sheriff’s Station at 951-210-1000 or the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department at 951-776-1099.
