Gang Member Arrested for Felony Warrant, Possession of Methamphetamine and Resisting Arrest

On Friday, July 22, 2022, at approximately 6:30 PM, Region 2 Gang Task Force Officers observed a wanted criminal street gang member, Jose Muro-Galvan, in front of a residence in the 1300 block of E Williams Street, in the city of Banning. Muro-Galvan had an active felony warrant for kidnapping and a misdemeanor warrant for drug possession. As Task Force Officers attempted to contact Muro-Galvan, he fled from the residence and a short foot pursuit ensued.

Muro-Galvan was located hiding inside a nearby business in the 1300 block of E. Ramsey Street, Banning. Muro-Galvan was taken into custody and was found to be in possession of approximately 2.7 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Galvan was arrested and booked at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility for his warrants and additional charges for drug possession, possession of paraphernalia, and resisting arrest will be sought.

The Riverside County Gang Task Force is a collaborative effort of several law enforcement agencies with the goal of combating criminal street gangs. The San Gorgonio Special Operations Regional Gang Task Force is one of six teams which compose the Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force.

The San Gorgonio Special Operations Gang Task Force is staffed with members from the Banning Police Department, Beaumont Police Department and Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
