Homeless Outreach related Fentanyl Seizure

On Thursday, October 6, 2022, the Moreno Valley Station’s Homeless Outreach Team responded to a homeless encampment, located on the shoulder of the Highway 60 on ramp at Day St. While conducting outreach operations, deputies observed evidence of illegal narcotics. The investigation uncovered a total of 24 grams of fentanyl and evidence of the sale of narcotics.

As a result of the investigation, deputies arrested three people at the location. Katherine Bergh, a 24-year-old female from Redlands, was found in possession of 22 grams of fentanyl and paraphernalia indicative of narcotics sales. Bergh was also arrested for two outstanding arrest warrants. Karsten Gonzalez, a 38-year-old male from Moreno Valley, was arrested for possession of fentanyl. Lauren Gonzalez, a 42-year-old female from Moreno Valley, was arrested for two outstanding arrest warrants.

The Homeless Outreach Team (HOT) is committed to assisting the community with issues related to homelessness through education and outreach. HOT addresses issues surrounding quality of life, encampments, and makes assessments of housing, substance abuse, and behavioral health needs.
