Inflatable Dummies

Date:

There has been a nuclear-level meltdown in the Democratic Party after what some consider a poor debate performance by President Biden. All of a sudden, some newspaper editorials, some Democratic representatives, and some donors have started to question if Biden is really fit to be our president. There are calls that Biden should step aside and let someone else run for the office of our president. Somehow, a poor debate performance equates to memory problems and “cognitive decline.”

This is nothing more than a knee-jerk reaction by people who don’t live in the real world. In their bubble, the contest is not between Biden and Trump. They think that anyone of their choosing can step into Biden’s shoes and do as well. They don’t understand that you don’t change your star quarterback in the 4th quarter of the game just because he threw a fumble. They think that it is easy to run a successful campaign with only a few months to go. They think that voters will just rubber-stamp anyone that the Democratic Party shoves in our face.

That is the height of arrogance. First of all, the Democratic Party is not so high and mighty that it commands voters’ undivided loyalty. Their ideology is good on paper, but it does not work for normal human beings. What does the party really have to offer? Climate change nonsense, where they tout us humans as our own worst enemy and ignore all the ways that the earth is responding to minor changes in the atmosphere? Or, their unfettered support for extremely minor and insignificant causes, while laying a huge guilt trip on the greater majority? Or, is it their constant babbling about democracy, when they themselves are now calling for overriding all the votes that were cast for Biden in the primaries, and when they failed to present one viable alternative to Biden? Do you see the level of hypocrisy in their thinking?

That, right there, is the first big problem. They are going to tell their voters who they think should run against Trump. In other words, it does not matter what people think. What matters is that they know better than us and can pick their own horse and assume that that horse will win—with our votes, in the general elections. We are basically being told who we should vote for. Public resentment is going to push many to vote for Trump, thus causing their candidate to lose. Biden is virtually tied in polls, even after his poor performance, which to me was not that bad. Not all of Biden’s supporters are going to be happy with an alternative that is being forced on them. I know I won’t be.

Let’s look at the alternatives. The first name being pushed out is Kamala Harris. I have asked many people, who are Biden supporters, if they would vote for Kamala. Almost always, their response is, “Pftttt!” followed immediately by, “Heck, no!” As I’ve mentioned before, Kamala is the reason why Biden’s poll numbers are low. No one wants Kamala to be our next President. She is not fit to lead this nation, and she is not smart enough to know the reason. Otherwise, she would have fixed her many problems.

The second person being mentioned is Gretchen Whitmer. Gretchen who, you may ask. Exactly! Most voters don’t even know this Michigan Governor, or what she stands for in terms of policy. Yes, she is a woman, but that is not enough. She does not have anything to offer. She may have been good for Michigan, but on the national stage, she is a small potato. When it comes to choosing her over Trump, Trump will be the clear winner. It is a sure-fire way for the Democratic Party to lose if they pick her to replace Biden.

The same goes for our governor, Gavin Newsom, or as I like to call him, Gavin Nuisance. He is a figure in California politics, but if his poor debate performance against Governor Ron DeSantis is anything to go by, he is no better than Biden. I still remember his b.s. about “following the science” during COVID and how he practically ruined thousands of businesses with his version of “science,” when in reality, he was just using COVID to elevate himself as a political figure. He is nothing more than a pretty boy. He is good eye-candy for women, and for some men, but it is all fluff and no substance. Trump will eat him alive for lunch and spit him out.

Then there is Pete Buttigieg. His only qualification is that he is gay and thus fills some of the checkboxes that Democrats so love to rally behind, but for him to be the next President is a long shot. Not that there is anything wrong with being gay. Some of my best friends are gay, but we have already seen how he performed so poorly in the primaries in 2020. He is not a good candidate to be president.

There are many other nobodies who seem to be itching to be in the spotlight. But that’s all they are: NOBODIES. Trump is a force to be reckoned with. He is a tornado and all these choices—all of them—are like trailer parks in his way. That is a reference that most of Trump’s followers can identify with, I am sure. These—let me say it again, nobodies—don’t have what it takes to defeat Trump.

We want Biden because he is Biden, not just a Democratic Party nominee. We want Trump because he is Trump, and not just a Republican Party nominee. Otherwise, you can just put an inflatable dummy in Biden’s place and expect the results to be the same. It doesn’t work that way. The only time an inflatable dummy has worked for me was in the movie Airplane. That inflatable pilot was a good fit. All these inflatable dummies are going to cost the Democrats this election for sure.
