Inland Empire Health Plan officials will celebrate the 5th anniversary of its Victorville-based Community Wellness Center.
The free family-friendly celebration is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 20 at 12353 Mariposa Road, Suites C2 and C3 in Victorville.
The event will include promotions, raffles, toy giveaways, snacks, balloon twisters, IEHP Superheroes, fitness and cooking demonstrations, facility tours and more.
The Community Wellness Center hosts year-round classes and makes resources available at no cost.
Since opening, the center has become a beacon of hope and support for those struggling with weight and/or loneliness, or who may need additional services such as housing, after-school programming and food, officials said.
Victorville is home to nearly 135,000 residents, many of whom must travel down the hill to reach vital services. The goal of the center is to help bridge the gap between the limited resources available in the area and the residents who need them.
Inland Empire Health Plan is one of the top 10 largest Medicaid health plans and the largest not-for-profit Medicare-Medicaid public health plan in the country.
For the third year in a row, the wellness center has been certified as “A Great Place To Work.” In its 27th year, Inland Empire Health Plan supports more than 1.5 million Riverside and San Bernardino County residents enrolled in Medicaid or IEHP DualChoice (those with both Medi-Cal and Medicare).
Today, Inland Empire Health Plan has a growing network of nearly 6,800 providers and more than 3,000 team members who are fully committed to the vision:
