‘Sweeney Todd’ Cast Announced: Next Up For Temecula Valley Players

TEMECULA, CA — The Temecula Valley Players and the Old Town Temecula Community Theater present the cast of this summer’s performance of “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.”

The cast list was previewed on Thursday, with Christopher Fortier named as the lead role of Sweeney Todd.

The musical will be directed by Carol Damgen, with Music direction by Leanna Pink-Sewell and choreography by Summer Palmieri. According to the announcement, the opening date is slated for May 30, and the show will run until June 15.

“Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street,” premiered in 1979, with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by Hugh Wheeler.

It is based on the 1970 play “Sweeney Todd” by Christopher Bond.
