The amusement park will welcome “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood” characters next month in partnership with the television series.

RIVERSIDE, CA — Characters from the Emmy Award-winning television series “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood” are coming to Riverside County.

Riverside’s Castle Park, 3500 Polk Street, will welcome characters Daniel Tiger and Katerina Kittycat on August 23, 24 and 31 and September 1. Their appearances mark a first at the family-friendly amusement park.

“Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood” is an animated musical television series aimed at preschool children aged 2-5. The character Daniel Tiger is based on the iconic Fred Rogers of “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.” Elements of Daniel’s home are based on the set of long-running series.

The show was created by Angela C. Santomero and is produced by Fred Rogers Productions, 9 Story Media Group, and 9 Story USA. It debuted on September 3, 2012, on PBS Kids, 11 years after “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” ended and nine years after Fred Rogers’ death.

Castle Park and the series producers of Fred Rogers Productions partnered to bring the characters to Riverside.

Castle Park features more than 25 rides and attractions, four miniature golf courses, carnival midway games, a water playground and a video arcade.

“Our partnership with Fred Rogers Productions and the upcoming visit of Daniel Tiger and Katerina Kittycat to the kingdom is one of many seasonal events we are hosting this summer to make sure no two visits to the park are the same,” according to Castle Park General Manager Ken Withers.

During the characters’ upcoming visits, Castle Park officials said the facility will host a variety of activities for the show’s fans, including:

· Exclusive Meet & Greets: Daniel Tiger and Katerina Kittycat will be in Castle Park’s Big Top Stage daily to meet guests and for photo opportunities.
· Storytime with Neighborhood Friends
· Art & Crafts Activities at the Big Top

All of the activities are included for free with park admission. Tickets for the summer season are on sale now. For a limited time, guests can get a free Tots Season Pass for kids under 6 years old.
