Possession of a Concealed Firearm

On Friday, July 30, 2021, at 1614 hours, Gang Task Force Officers from Region 2 conducted a bicycle stop in the area of Orange Street and 8th Street in the City of Beaumont, for a violation of the California Vehicle Code.

The suspect, identified as Cody Stamper, a 31-year-old resident from the City of Beaumont, had a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest and was placed under arrest. A search of Stamper’s backpack was conducted and Gang Task Force Officers located a loaded 9mm handgun.

Stamper was booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility for the following charges:

  • Possession of Un-Registered Firearm
  • Possession of Concealed Firearm
  • Possession of Un-Registered Firearm
  • Possession of Narcotics While Armed

The Riverside County Gang Task Force is a collaborative effort of several law enforcement agencies with the goal of combating criminal street gangs. The San Gorgonio Special Operations Regional Gang Task Force is one of six teams which compose the Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force. The San Gorgonio Special Operations Gang Task Force is staffed with members from the Banning Police Department, Beaumont Police Department and Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
