Search Warrant Results in Drug Sales Seizure and Firearm

Details:

On Thursday, February 16, at 12:18 PM, deputies from the San Jacinto and Hemet Sheriff’s Station served a search warrant on a residence within the 44000 block of Highway 74, Hemet, in regards to a drug sales investigation. Through the search warrant, deputies seized 16 grams of powder Fentanyl, five grams of methamphetamine, one unserialized 9mm Polymer-80 handgun containing a loaded high-capacity extended magazine, and a stolen Smith & Wesson 45 caliber handgun. Joseph Rene Perez, age 37 of Hemet, was arrested and booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility for a multitude of firearm and drug charges including:

  • Sales of Controlled Substances While Armed
  • Sales of Multiple Controlled Substances
  • Possession of Stolen Property
  • Altering Firearm Identification Number

The investigation is currently on-going and no further information will be released at this time.
