Two Suspects Arrested for Mail Theft and Fraud

On Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at 9:00 AM the Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team (SET) conducted further investigation into multiple mail theft incidents that occurred between January 20, 2022 and June 17, 2022, within the City of Rancho Mirage.

Santa Clarita contractor arraigned for 21 felony counts of forgery, theft, and fraud

Adan Deniz, 43, a contractor from Santa Clarita, was arraigned on April 8th on 21 felony counts of forgery, theft by false pretense, and workers’ compensation insurance fraud after allegedly creating fraudulent certificates to secure jobs and underreporting payroll by over $425,000 to save thousands on insurance premiums.

Fraud Investigation

On Friday, October 29, 2021, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Southwest Station served a fraud related search warrant in the 24000 block of Leafwood Drive in Murrieta. The search warrant stemmed from credit cards which were stolen from a patient at the Temecula Valley Hospital. The suspect, Isabel Valdez, a registered nurse for the Temecula Valley Hospital was arrested for theft by credit card, financial elder abuse, and identity theft.

Fraud and Weapons Arrest

On Thursday, October 28, 2021, the La Quinta Special Enforcement Team (SET) with the assistance of the La Quinta Traffic Team, the Coachella Community Action Team, and the Southern Coachella Valley Community Services District, served a fraud related search warrant at the 45000 block of King Street, in Indio.

LA man admits fraudulently obtaining $9M in COVID-19 loans

A Los Angeles man has pleaded guilty to fraudulently obtaining $9 million in loans from COVID-relief programs, some of which he transferred to his stock trading accounts and used for gambling trips to Las Vegas, federal prosecutors said.
