The American Legion Post 53 has been in recruitment mode for our Boys State. Robert Farris, our Second Vice Commander, has been in contact with our local schools recruiting both boys and girls.
The San Jacinto Valley seems to be obsessed with wrestling on television. It is a sport with no local connections so far as having it live in this area except high school which is pretty much limited to families with kids participating.
All was calm; all was bright until Jackie Peterson nominated Joe Males for Mayor, quickly seconded by current Mayor Lilienthal. The vote was called and Linda Krupa was first to vote “no,” then Karlee Meyer voted “no.” Joe, Jackie and Malcolm voted “yes” and then Joe was declared the new Mayor.
I've been hearing from mobile park seniors over the past few months about rent increases. Most seem to feel a 2% per year raise is sufficient, while most have been around 5%.
