Federal investigators have confirmed that human remains discovered near the Salton Sea have been identified as a 17-year-old Riverside County girl who was reported missing late last year.
T’neya “TT” Tovar was reported missing on Dec. 1, 2025. Authorities said she was last seen in Thermal, an unincorporated community in Riverside County’s Coachella Valley.
Weeks into the search, deputies with the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office responded on Dec. 21 to reports of human remains in the Vista Delmar area near Portsmouth Avenue and Newhaven Court. At the scene, investigators located a human leg that showed signs of decomposition.
The remains were collected by the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office Coroner’s Unit and submitted for forensic examination. Initially, investigators were unable to determine the sex, age, or race of the individual.
Multiple agencies collaborated in the investigation, working to develop a DNA profile and comparing it against local and regional databases. Despite extensive efforts, authorities were initially unable to confirm the person’s identity.
On Feb. 6, Imperial County Scientific Investigations personnel received a positive DNA match indicating the remains belonged to a female. Investigators then focused on a missing juvenile case from Riverside County believed to have connections to the Salton City area.
Tovar’s mother was contacted and agreed to provide a DNA sample for comparison. A rapid DNA analysis confirmed a positive match, officially identifying the remains as those of the missing 17-year-old.
On Feb. 14, deputies served a search warrant at a residence in the 2800 block of Harlequin Court in Salton City. During the operation, 51-year-old Abraham Feinbloom was taken into custody. Authorities reported that Feinbloom attempted to jump a fence at the property but was quickly apprehended.
He was subsequently booked on charges of murder and resisting a peace officer and is being held without bail. The investigation remains ongoing.
