Two Found Dead Outside Riverside County Courthouse

Date:

Authorities are investigating after two people were discovered dead early Thursday morning near the Riverside Historic Courthouse in downtown Riverside.

Police officers responded shortly after 2 a.m. to reports of a possible stabbing and an individual down in the area of Main Street and 12th Street, according to the Riverside Police Department.

When officers arrived, they found two victims suffering from injuries. Paramedics who were called to the scene determined both individuals had died.

Investigators have not yet confirmed what led to the deaths, and officials have not released information about the victims. Police also said no arrests had been made as of Thursday afternoon.

Detectives assigned to the department’s Robbery-Homicide Unit remained at the location for several hours while gathering evidence and interviewing potential witnesses.

The area around 12th Street near Main and Orange streets was closed to traffic during the investigation as officers worked to process the scene.

Authorities said the investigation is ongoing, and additional details are expected to be released once more information becomes available.
