Two Victims Killed in Four-Vehicle Accident near Warren Road

Date:

Friday morning, Steven Hutchinson and Francisco Salgado were killed in a collision on Ramona Expressway.

The incident happened around 6:20 a.m., on March 17. Emergency crews arrived to the scene just west of Warren Road shortly after.

As per reports, 88-year-old Salgado was driving a truck hauling a small trailer east on the Ramona Expressway.

When traffic abruptly stopped in front of him, he veered left into the westbound lanes in attempt to avoid striking the stopped cars.

There, the wrong-way truck then crashed into a black Jeep Wrangler in front of him, a westbound Nissan Frontier, and a westbound white Jeep Wrangler.

Consequently, responding officers had to extricate the truck driver and the white Jeep Wrangler driver from the wreck. Medics then took both drivers to nearby hospitals for further treatment.

Due to the extent of his condition, Salgado succumbed to his injuries at the hospital that morning.

A few days after, the white Jeep Wrangler driver also died from his injuries. Authorities later named the deceased man Steven Hutchinson, of San Jacinto.

At this time, alcohol or illegal substances were not considered a factor in this accident for both drivers involved. Further investigation of this accident is still ongoing.
