Riverside County recognizes 30-year anniversary Ryan White funding for HIV/AIDS program

Ryan White, the courageous teenager who fought discrimination after contracting AIDS, never saw the impact his short life would have on hundreds of thousands of individuals living with HIV and AIDS. Ryan, who contracted the disease from a blood transfusion in 1984, died in April 1990, only months before the establishment of the Ryan White Comprehensive AIDS Resources Emergency (CARE) Act. The Indiana teen was 18 when he died.

Fatal Traffic Collision – August 17, 2020

On August 17, 2020, at about 9:38 PM, deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the report of a Fatal Traffic Collision on Perris Boulevard near Alessandro Boulevard. Callers reported a subject was run over by multiple cars. Deputies arrived on scene an confirmed a male was deceased in the roadway.

Homicide – August 17, 2020

On August 17, 2020, at about 2:41 a.m., deputies assigned to the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to a report of a shooting in the area of Van Buren Blvd. west of Bellegrave Ave., Jurupa Valley. Upon arrival, deputies were directed to a male victim in the flood control channel, under Van Buren Blvd. The male sustained several gunshot wounds, and although emergency lifesaving efforts were attempted, the male was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Deputy Involved Shooting – Update

On August 7, 2020, approximately 2:38 pm, deputies from the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to a suspicious persons call in the 70000 block of Tamarisk Lane in the city of Rancho Mirage. Shortly after receiving the call, a deputy arrived on scene and located a male suspect matching the description given by dispatch.

Homicide – August 17, 2020

On Monday, August 17, 2020, deputies from the Jurupa Valley Station responded to the 17000 block of Canyon Creek Court in the unincorporated area of Lake Hills to investigate a report of a shooting. When deputies arrived, they located an adult male, later identified as Carl Greg Small, 58 years old, standing in the front yard with a firearm.
