A firefighter was injured and scores of residents are facing evacuations as multiple wildfires burn across California. As of Tuesday morning, more than 3,200 acres were ablaze in Monterey and Inyo counties. The largest of the blazes, the Willow fire in Los Padres National Forest, ignited around 8 p.m. Thursday and had grown to 2,848 acres by Tuesday morning, according to the U.S. Forest Service, with an estimated containment date of July 11.

The California DMV announced Monday that all Californians who received driver's licenses or identification cards during the pandemic but did not get a REAL ID can upgrade for free through the end of the year.

California has a lot of moratoriums it needs to worry about. Even as Gov. Gavin Newsom and state lawmakers rush to extend California’s eviction moratorium before it expires next week, another big deadline looms on the horizon. In November, the state’s moratorium on insurance companies dropping coverage for Californians living in wildfire-prone areas is set to end — meaning at least 2.1 million residents could soon find themselves without homeowners’ insurance.

On Saturday July 10th, Brad Ford returns to the Historic Hemet Theatre with his band, Fortunate Son, to perform their remarkable Tribute to Creedence Clearwater Revival and the music of John Fogerty. A week later on Sunday July 18th, Brad will return as part of the Celebration of Life for Bryan Carrier.
