It’s hard if not impossible these days to find anyone who hasn’t heard the term “fake news.” But as I was mulling over this fairly new tag, I thought that, in fact, fake stuff has been around for quite a long time. Think about it - we have fake jewelry, fake meat, fake grass, fake Christmas trees, and even fake “people” riding in the passenger seats of cars driving in carpool lanes. Strange sight, I’m sure!

The case against Dr. Grant Robicheaux and his girlfriend, Cerissa Riley, has taken an interesting turn. The Newport Beach physician and his partner were charged with drugging, kidnapping, and sexually assaulting several women in 2018, and it seems the case has now become somewhat of a political football in the state of California.

Harvey Weinstein will soon be extradited to California to stand trial on charges that he sexually assaulted five women in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills, a New York judge ruled Tuesday.

Three Inland Empire women have pleaded guilty to federal criminal charges accusing them of using information belonging to other people – including California US DOJstate prison inmates – to file for pandemic-related unemployment benefits, with each defendant causing at least $350,000 in losses.
