On January 7th 2021, investigators from the Central Homicide Unit arrested a 16 year old juvenile for his involvement in the murder of Blake Paine. The juvenile was booked into Southwest Juvenile Hall without incident. The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office has filed charges on all three suspects. Investigators do not believe there are any other outstanding suspects. Anyone with information related to Blake Paine’s murder is encouraged to call Investigator Trudeau at 951-955-2777.
On January 13, 2021, at 5:00 A.M., deputies assigned to the Coachella Community Action Team (CCAT), with the assistance of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), served a search warrant at a residence in the 5100 block of La Ponderosa in the city of Coachella.

California lifted a stay-at-home order in the 13-county Sacramento region on Tuesday as hospital conditions improved, a rare turn of good news as the state pushes through what Gov. Gavin Newsom called “its most intense surge” of the coronavirus. The order imposed Dec. 10 banned gatherings outside a household and shuttered or restricted many businesses. With virus cases and hospitalizations more stable now, the region can resume outdoor dining and worship services, reopen hair and nail salons and other businesses, and increase capacity at retailers Gatherings of up to three households are allowed.
Anyone flying to the U.S. will soon need to show proof of a negative test for COVID-19, health officials announced Tuesday. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention requirement expands on a similar one announced late last month for passengers coming from the United Kingdom. The new order takes effect in two weeks.
