California could see its second high-speed rail project begin construction next year, according to news reports. Brightline West looks to build an $8 billion passenger rail corridor connecting Southern California and Las Vegas, mainly within the median of the Interstate 15 freeway. It would operate 180-mph electric trains. 

California allocated $10 million for a rebate program to help make electric bikes more affordable. But hang on there; it’s not active quite yet. The move is part of a years-long effort to help reduce the price of expensive electric bicycles for state residents.

With skyrocketing rents, landlords aren’t just taking more of your cash — they’re spending more of your time. The typical full-time employee in the United States worked nearly 63 hours in October to pay an average rent of $2,040 — almost six hours more than in October 2019, before the pandemic, according to data from the listing company Zillow.
