MSJC’s Supplemental Instruction Program Earns Reaccreditation

Date:

Mt. San Jacinto College’s Supplemental Instruction (SI) Program has been reaccredited by the International Center for Supplemental Instruction for the second time in the program’s 15-year history at MSJC.

MSJC is one of only two California Community Colleges that are accredited by the International Center for Supplementary Instruction, which is based at the University of Missouri in Kansas City.

Supplemental Instruction is an academic assistance program that increases student performance and retention. It provides free and voluntary weekly review sessions to students enrolled in targeted historically difficult courses.

Involved in MSJC’s effort to achieve the reaccreditation were Dr. Alma Ramirez, Dean of Instruction, San Jacinto Campus Academic Programs, Libraries & Learning Resource Centers; Ted Blake, Learning Resource Center Coordinator; and Kathalena Rios, Supplemental Instruction Specialist.
