Suspect Arrested for Multiple Retail Thefts

On Friday, August 19, 2022, about 3:20 PM, deputies from the Cabazon station responded to a report of a theft that occurred at a business in the 48000 Block of Seminole Drive. Deputies arrived and learned the suspect, who was later identified as Demon Dennis a 49-year-old resident of Hemet, had stolen numerous pairs of designer sunglasses and fled the location. The investigation later revealed Dennis to be the suspect of several additional thefts that had occurred at the business between May of 2022 and July of 2022. Deputies located the suspect vehicle as it was traveling westbound on the I-10. With the assistance of Riverside Sheriff’s Aviation, Riverside Sheriff’s K9 and the Beaumont Police Department, Dennis was taken into custody without incident.

The stolen merchandise, valued at approximately $10,000, was found on Dennis and recovered. Dennis was booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility for grand theft and an active felony robbery warrant that was issued for his arrest.
