On February 16, 2023, at 10:43 PM, deputies from the Palm Desert Station were conducting a stolen vehicle investigation in the 64-700 block of 16th Avenue, Desert Hot Springs. Deputies located the stolen vehicle, a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, in the front yard of a residence. Deputies spoke with residents at the location and learned that Eder Serrano-Solis, a 39-year-old Hispanic male adult, was the driver of the stolen vehicle. During the investigation, Serrano-Solis used the key fob to lock the doors to the stolen vehicle. As deputies attempted to detain Serrano-Solis, he became uncooperative, refused to comply with deputies’ lawful commands, and a use of force occurred.

Serrano-Solis was transported to an area hospital where he was medically cleared for booking. Serrano-Solis was booked into the John Benoit Detention Center for being in possession of a stolen vehicle and resisting arrest.
