Arrest Made for Stealing Items from a Local Hospital

On June 22, 2023, deputies assigned to the Riverside University Health Systems Medical Center, located at 26520 Cactus Avenue, Moreno Valley, began investigating a report of grand theft which occurred in one of the auxiliary buildings at the hospital. Two unknown male subjects entered an unauthorized area of the hospital and stole items, including laptop computers. Deputies checked the area for the subjects but were unable to locate them. The Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station’s Robbery Burglary Suppression Team(RBST) responded to assist in the investigation. On June 23, 2023, both suspects were located at a residence in the 900 block of Romneya Drive, Anaheim. While at the location, RBST recovered items that were stolen from the hospital. Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station for processing. The suspects were identified as Andrew Hernandez, a 36-year-old resident of Fountain Valley, and Pedro Perea, a 44-year-old resident of Santa Ana. Both were later transported and booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center for burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary. Perea was also booked on two outstanding felony warrants.

Kohler booked on murder, hit-run death after Palm Avenue scooter crash

Mason Drew Kohler, 31, was booked on felony murder, hit-and-run death, and DUI charges, according to the Riverside County jail roster, which lists a Hemet PD arrest at Palm Avenue and Commonwealth Avenue. Hemet police say two pedestrians on an electric scooter were struck there about 6:55 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22; one was pronounced dead. Police have not named the driver, and the decedent's identity remains withheld.
