Two Arrested and Fourteen Cited at City of Perris DUI Checkpoint

Perris, Calif. – On September 08, 2023, 2 people were arrested for DUI, and 14 citations were issued, for violations such as driving with suspended/revoked license or without a license at a DUI/ Drivers license checkpoint.

The DUI/ Drivers license checkpoint. was held at Ramona Expy. and Rider St. from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.

14 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, and 1,144 vehicles were contacted. 32 vehicles were subject to secondary screening, 4 field sobriety tests were conducted, and 4 vehicles were towed.

DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.

Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
