San Jacinto to honor America’s Veterans on Veterans Day 2026

Date:

San Jacinto residents will come together November 11 to recognize the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces during the city’s 16th Annual Veterans Day Ceremony at Golden Era Golf Course. The event, beginning at 11 a.m., will feature military tributes, patriotic presentations and a community gathering honoring local veterans.

Organized by American Legion Post 848, the City of San Jacinto and a committee of community supporters, this year’s observance comes as the United States celebrates the 250th anniversary of its independence. The milestone adds special meaning to an annual tradition dedicated to recognizing generations of Americans who have served their country.

The ceremony will open with a bagpiper leading a procession across the golf course toward the clubhouse, followed by the Hemet Mounted Posse presenting the colors. The program will continue with patriotic music, special presentations and remarks recognizing the sacrifices and contributions of military veterans.

Among the featured speakers will be Senior Chief Operations Specialist Stephanie Hare, who will share her experiences serving as Command Master Chief aboard the USS Boxer during challenging circumstances. Her presentation will offer attendees a personal perspective on military service, leadership and the responsibilities carried by those serving aboard U.S. Navy vessels.

San Jacinto City Councilmember Phil Ayala, a veteran and member of the event’s organizing committee, emphasized the importance of continuing the community’s tradition of recognizing military service.

“As a veteran myself, I know the importance of acknowledging veterans for all they have done to serve our country,” Ayala said.

American Legion Post 848 Commander Lester Fountain also pointed to the significance of honoring veterans during the nation’s 250th anniversary celebration.

San Jacinto High School ROTC cadets stand in formation with ceremonial rifles during a military drill exhibition, demonstrating discipline and respect for the traditions of the armed forces.

“Especially during this 250th Anniversary of our country, it is important that we remember the veterans who have served to protect the freedoms we enjoy. This is our opportunity as a community to say thank you,” Fountain said.

Following the ceremony, veterans will be invited to enjoy a complimentary round of golf at Golden Era Golf Course. A free lunch will also be provided to everyone attending, courtesy of Authority Real Estate and the Hemet Kiwanis Club, two longtime supporters of local veterans and community activities.

The annual gathering has become a San Jacinto tradition, bringing together veterans, military families, local officials, community organizations and residents for a morning of remembrance and appreciation.

Organizers encourage the public to attend, whether to honor a family member who served, recognize local veterans or simply take part in the community observance. Active-duty military personnel and their families are also welcome.

The 16th Annual Veterans Day Ceremony will take place Wednesday, November 11, at Golden Era Golf Course, 19871 Gilman Springs Road in San Jacinto. The ceremony begins at 11 a.m., and admission is free.
