On May 22, 2023, at 6:05 PM, Thermal Station patrol units responded to the 51200 block of Douma Street, in the city of Coachella, reference an attempt murder. The investigation revealed a Black male juvenile robbed a 17-year-old Hispanic male juvenile at gunpoint. A family member drove the victims, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, to a local hospital. The suspect and his juvenile passenger fled the scene on foot. No other injuries were reported. The investigation was assumed by the Thermal Station Special Investigations Unit.
