On December 13, 2023, at 1:06 a.m., deputies from the Riverside Sheriff’s Southwest Station, responded to the intersection of Winchester Road and Margarita Road in the city of Temecula regarding a single vehicle traffic collision.

Physicians have long emphasized individual actions to prevent chronic disease such as eating well, exercising, and avoiding smoking. But even as global smoking rates have dropped, the amount of chronic disease at the population level hasn’t fallen as much as public health researchers had hoped it would.

For many people of color, preparing for a doctor’s appointment includes dressing up to boost the chances they’ll be taken seriously and treated with respect, according to a new survey by the Kaiser Family Foundation.

The Department of Veterans Affairs announced that it has screened 5 million Veterans for toxic exposures — a critical step to detecting, understanding, and treating potentially life-threatening health conditions. Of the 5 million Veterans who have received the screening, 2.1 million (43%) reported at least one potential exposure.

The suspect in this case has been identified as 53-year-old Kelly Lynette Cronn, a resident of Palm Desert. Cronn has been charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer and is currently in custody and recovering from her injuries at the Riverside University Health Systems Detention Care Unit.
