VA partners with DOD to increase surgery access for Gulf Coast Veterans

The Department of Veterans Affairs announced a new partnership with the Department of Defense to increase access to world-class surgical care for approximately 37,000 Gulf Coast-area Veterans. Under this new agreement, these Veterans will now be able to receive same-day, outpatient surgical care at a new VA clinic in Naval Hospital Pensacola — a local DoD hospital.

Homicide (Update)

During the course of this investigation, the suspect was identified as David Douglas, 44 years of Lake Elsinore. At about 2:40 p.m., members of the Major Crimes Unit and uniformed patrol deputies located and detained Douglas at a business on Florida Avenue and Buena Vista Street, Hemet.

Deputy Involved Shooting (Update)

On Thursday, October 19, 2023, investigators identified the driver of the vehicle as Jose Eduardo RosalesPerez, a 34-year-old resident of Desert Hot Springs, a suspect in the deputy-involved shooting. Due to RosalesPerez’ actions and involvement during the incident he was booked into the John Benoit Detention Center on three counts of attempted murder of a peace officer.

Narcotics and Firearms Located During Search Warrant

On Friday, October 20th, 2023, the San Jacinto Station’s Special Enforcement Team served a narcotics-related search warrant in the 600 block of East Shaver Street in the city of San Jacinto. Deputies arrested a 17-year-old male juvenile, and Issac Corona, a 25-year-old resident of Indio, without incident.

On Friday, October 20, 2023, at 9:06 a.m., Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies assigned to the Robbery and Burglary Suppression Team (RBST) responded to a vehicle burglary which occurred in the 14000 block of Meridian Parkway, in the unincorporated area of Riverside.
