As of January 1, Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) is now responsible for ensuring access to health care services for more than 11,000 residents in Needles, Big River, Red Mountain, Blythe, Trona and surrounding areas in California.

More than 200 people helped Mt. San Jacinto College (MSJC) celebrate the groundbreaking of a new STEM building and debut of its new animatronic makerspace at its San Jacinto Campus on Tuesday, March 22.

One sunny afternoon, as Bob and I drove down Lamb’s Canyon, we noticed about fifteen people lined up along the top of a deep ravine, just staring down into the side of the canyon. Thinking something was amiss, we pulled over and joined the lookie-loos. And then we saw it - a car had plunged down the steep side of the hill and had flipped over at the bottom, leaving two scared teens in distress. One was standing but his friend was not moving and laying flat on his back.

Noli Indian School students at the Soboba Reservation had an AISES at UCLA STEM day with virtual sessions in robotics and biology on March 9. The online sessions directed them through building a robot with materials that had been provided by the nonprofit, Every Kid Gets A Robot. EKGAR is a 3D printed robot designed by Daniella Boyer, an Indigenous youth robotics inventor from Michigan. EKGAR is an initiative of The STEAM Connection, a minority and youth-run technical educational organization that designs robots and sends them to kids free of charge.

Children and adolescents with disabilities experience physical, sexual, and emotional violence, and neglect at considerably higher rates than those without disability, despite advances in awareness and policy in recent years. This is according to a systematic review of research involving more than 16 million young people from 25 countries conducted between 1990 and 2020.
