This month marks the two-year anniversary of the pandemic. Many Americans started to grasp that something serious was happening as U.S. states began to lock down on March 15, 2020. California issued its shelter-in-place order on March 19.

On January 27, 2022, about 10:19 AM, Cabazon Sheriff’s Station deputies assigned to the city of Calimesa were dispatched to a call of an unresponsive male adult in the 10000 block of Desert Lawn Drive, city of Calimesa.

Hispanic/Latino youths with limited access to nutritionally adequate food—especially those whose parents were foreign-born—had worse cardiometabolic profiles than their “food secure” counterparts, according to a study published in Pediatrics. Until now, little was known about the role of food insecurity on youths’ physical health. 

On Thursday, March 17, 2022, at 6:21 AM, deputies assigned to the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station responded to the area of Ramona Express Way and Warren Road, regarding a major-injury traffic collision. Deputies and Cal Fire arrived within minutes and located a traffic collision involving four vehicles.

After following multiple leads, investigators have arrested Eusebio Elias-Vargas, a 22-year-old resident of Thermal and Jose Manuel Elias-Sanchez, a 22-year-old resident of Thermal, for the homicide of Guillermo Jacobo.
