On February 8, 2022, Investigators from the Central Homicide Unit continued their investigation. A 16 year-old Hispanic male, resident of Oasis was booked into Juvenile Hall for murder. The investigation remains on-going.

In a study of drivers with past year alcohol and cannabis use, researchers at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health found that two in five drivers reporting alcohol and cannabis in the past year drove under the influence of alcohol, cannabis or both.

On February 7, 2022, at 03:09 a.m., deputies from the Thermal Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of an unresponsive male subject lying on the ground in the 91800 block of Avenue 66 in Mecca. Upon arrival, deputies located an adult male victim with trauma to his body consistent with a homicide.

On February 6, 2022, around 6:55 P.M., deputies assigned to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Lake Elsinore Station, responded to a major injury traffic collision on Grand Ave. and McVicker Canyon Park Road, in Lake Elsinore.
