The Department of Veterans Affairs has extended the presumptive period to Dec. 31, 2026 for qualifying chronic disabilities rated 10% or more resulting from undiagnosed illnesses in Persian Gulf War Veterans to ensure benefits established by Congress are fairly administered.
On Friday, October 29, 2021, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Southwest Station served a fraud related search warrant in the 24000 block of Leafwood Drive in Murrieta. The search warrant stemmed from credit cards which were stolen from a patient at the Temecula Valley Hospital. The suspect, Isabel Valdez, a registered nurse for the Temecula Valley Hospital was arrested for theft by credit card, financial elder abuse, and identity theft.
On Thursday, October 28, 2021, at approximately 2:00 P.M., members of the Murrieta-Temecula Regional Gang Task Force conducted a parole compliance check at a residence located in the 26000 block of Saint Julian Circle in Murrieta. The parole compliance check was in reference to Andrew Davis 32, a documented criminal street gang member and convicted felon.

A bedtime cigarette sparked a fire at a Riverside home over the weekend, according to fire officials. Firefighters were called out to a house fire in the 2000 block of Marlborough at about 6:54 a.m. Saturday, and found a single-story duplex with smoke showing from the back. When crews made their way inside the home, they found one person at the back door, trying to get out.
