On October 26, 2021, about 11:13 A.M., San Jacinto Deputies responded to the 600 block of South Rosario Avenue, San Jacinto, reference a report of domestic violence. After initial investigation and interviews with the victims, the suspect, Raul Mendez, 38 years of San Jacinto, barricaded himself inside his residence.

On October 25, 2021, around 5:50 PM, San Jacinto Deputies began receiving reports of an armed subject at a local Walmart. Multiple deputies arrived on scene and secured the area ensuring the safety of the employees and patrons. The investigation revealed the suspect attempted to leave the store without paying for items.

The Biden-Harris Administration is ensuring that 144 million people enrolled in Medicare, Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) have access to COVID-19 treatments.  Today, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued guidance to states about the statutory requirement for states to cover COVID-19-related treatment without cost-sharing in Medicaid and CHIP for many seniors, low-income adults, pregnant women, children, and people with disabilities who receive health coverage through these programs.

For years, the bulk of my work has focused on what happens to young migrants who’ve been detained by the federal government. I’ve talked to children who’ve been held in freezing cells on the border, shortly after arriving in the United States by themselves. I’ve spent time talking with kids who’ve been forcibly drugged at a residential treatment center in Texas.
