On Friday December 24, 2021, at about 11:24 pm, the Hemet Police Dispatch Center began receiving calls about a traffic collision in the area of Devonshire Ave. and Sanderson Ave. The reporting party advised that the collision was between a vehicle and a bicycle and that the bicycle rider was still in the roadway.
A 14-year-old was shopping for Christmas clothes last week with her mother when the pair heard screams and hid in a dressing room, where the girl was fatally shot by Los Angeles police after an officer fired a rifle at a suspect and a bullet pierced a wall, the family said Tuesday.
Video released Monday showed Los Angeles police firing at a man suspected of assaulting customers last week at a clothing store, a shooting that also killed a 14-year-old girl hiding in a dressing room who was struck by a bullet that went through a wall.
On Sunday, December 26, 2021, about 9:37 PM, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, San Jacinto Station, responded to the intersection of Ramona Expressway and Sanderson Avenue, regarding a report of a major-injury traffic collision. Deputies and AMR arrived and located the two vehicle traffic collision.
The victim has been identified as 46 year-old, Jodi Newkirk, a resident of the Mountain Center community.
